The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued a decree appointing Hassan Abdalla, CEO and managing director of the Arab African International Bank, as the first assistant to the governor of the CBE.

Also the CBE appointed Sherif Elwy as CEO of the Arab African International Bank, following Abdallah.

Abdalla has served as the former chairperson of the Saib Bank, chairperson of the Union Des Banques Arabes Et Francaises – UBAF in Hong Kong and chairperson of the board of trustees of Oweegypt. He is also a former member of the board of directors of the Union Des Banques Arabes Et Francaises in Paris and member of the CBE and Orascom Construction.
As for Elwy, he served as former vice president of the National Bank of Egypt and a member of the board of directors of Telecom Egypt, in addition to his work in a number of multinational banks owned by the private sector. He was recently working as region and branches director at the Arab Bank.
