Amazon announced that customers in Egypt can currently purchase e-reader ‘Kindle’ devices as they are now available on the online retail and marketplace souq.com.

The Kindle comes in two models, Kindle, and Kindle Oasis-which is the advanced version of Amazon’s e-reader devices.

“We are delighted to make books more accessible by bringing the bestselling e-readers in the world to our customers in Egypt,” said souq.com Egypt General Manager Omar Elsahy.

Kindle Oasis comes as a 7in 300ppi display and is waterproof, thin with a light design and a high-resolution. It has a battery life measured in weeks and a fast-charging capability that allows it to go from no battery to fully charged in less than two hours.

Meanwhile, Kindle features a 6in display-which makes it easier to read for a longer time-and its high contrast display touchscreen eliminates glare in any setting.

Users can personalise their reading settings on Kindle devices with a selection of fonts, font sizes, and text alignment options.

Souq.com is an online retail and marketplace website in the Arab region, featuring more than 9.4m products across 31 categories such as consumer electronics, fashion, health and beauty, household goods, and baby products.
