A state of division stirred inside Al-Wafd Party following the dismissal of one of its member Mohamed Fouad from the party and all its formations, resulting in mass resignation of other members.

Two days ago, Head of Wafd Party Bahaa Abo Shoqa decided to suspend Fouad and refer him to investigation after the member has posted an article on his Facebook account that criticised the head of the party, and his actions. In his article, Fouad also criticised Abo Shoqa’s attitude with him saying that whenever he call him, Abu Shoqa never answer or call him back later. The article was titled “Call me, Thank you.”

In rejection to the decision, a number of members have submitted a mass resignation.

“As members and leaders of the Wafd Party we resigned from the membership of the party and all its formations, as a result of the non-regulatory decisions recently issued, which included MP Mohamed Fouad.”

The members added in their resignations, which were released on Tuesday, that the reason is also the recent departure of the party from the political track, and organisational, and focusing only the internal problems and crises to undermine each and every activity.
