Ministry of finance to operate bill to change machines in Metro stations

The Ministry of Finance is studying to sign an agreement with one of the European companies to obtain a bill to change machines, which woul  allow citizens to obtain coins for paper bills, according to a statement issued on Tuesday. eSome of these machines will start operation as a test before signing the agreement.

The statement explained that the ministry will receive those test machines for free to verify their usefulness, adding that they will be available within a short period in the main Metro stations.

Moreover, the Mint Authority is currently studying the issuance of a new EGP 2 coin, similar to such coins available in some Arab and European countries, the statement added.

Chairperson of the Public Treasury Authority Hossam Khedr said that the authority allocates EGP 250,000 daily to the metro facility, accounting for 40% of the total coins assigned domestically.
