Samsung maintains dominance over Egyptian mobile market, Huawei progresses slowly

Samsung kept its control over mobile phone sales in Egypt despite fierce competition among other smartphone manufacturers, especially Huawei, which continues to increase its market share for the fifth month in a row.

According to a Statcounter report, Samsung had the largest market share of mobile phone sales, with 37.5% in July, down from 38.4% in June.

Huawei continued its slow progress in Egypt, increasing its market share from 15.7% in June to 16.4% in July, thus maintaining second position, according to the report.

Apple’s iPhone came in the third rank with a market share of 9.2% in July, compared to 8.5% in June.

Infinix continued in the fourth place in smartphone market share despite its decline to 7.5% in July, down from 7.9% in June.

Lenovo ranked fifth with the same market share of Infinix of 7.5% in July, up from 6.8% June, although it announced its exit from the Egyptian market last month.

Oppo is also continuing to advance to better rankings through the continuous increase in its market share. For the fourth consecutive month, Oppo managed to increase its market share during July to 4.22%, compared to 4% in June, thus occupying the sixth position in the Egyptian market.

Techno came in seventh place, maintaining last month’s ranking and market share of 2.6% in July.

With a similar market share, HTC ranked eighth in July with a slight decline compared to June, which had a share of 2.9%.

Sony came in last in the ranking of July and acquired a market share of 1.6%, down from 1.8% in June.
