Ministers of communications, military production discuss cooperation on implementing future plans to develop communications, IT sectors

Minister of Military Production Mohamed Al-Assar met with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat to discuss joint cooperation and lay out proposals to implement future plans.

Al-Assar reviewed several projects implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications, including deepening local manufacturing in the electronics industry, establishing solar energy plants in the technological parks in Borg El-Arab and Assiut, and developing post offices. Additionally, both parties will take part in several initiatives, including one to design and manufacture electronics named “Egypt the Future”, as well as another initiative to provide technological education for young people, in addition to a project to implement integrated databases.

Al-Assar pointed out that his ministry has technical and technological potential to be used in all the projects implemented by the Ministry of Communications.

For his part, Talaat said that discussions took place on cooperation in several fields, including manufacturing electronics, especially tablets, as well as expanding training operations through the Institution of Information Technology, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Communications, to prepare technical staff from the Ministry of Military Production regarding several technological issues, such as the Internet of Things, integrated systems, and joint cooperation in the field of research and development.

Talaat added that the implementation of several work plans was also discussed, together with future projects related to cooperating with other ministries, such as the Ministries of Health, Agriculture, and Education, in implementing and developing digital community projects.
