Egyptian exports to Arab and Nile basin countries up in October

Egyptian exports to Arab counties increased last October to register $673.4m, compared to $594.7m in October 2014, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported on Thursday.

Meanwhile, imports from Arab countries declined from $1.1bn during that period to $640.2m in October 2015.

CAPMAS explained that exports to Saudi Arabia went up to register $138.2m, from $123.4m in the preceding year. Imports from the same country registered $266.3m, down from $400m.

Exports to the UAE recorded $84.6m, compared to $64.3m, while imports went down from $132.7m to $65.2m.

Moreover, Egyptian exports to Nile basin countries also increased last October from $73.2m to $97.9m year-on-year.

Imports from Nile basin countries decreased from $107.2m in October 2014 to $29.42m, according to CAPMAS.
