CAIRO: USA coach Bob Bradley is excited over his team’s match with Egypt, describing the Pharaohs as ‘extremely talented and competitive’.

Both teams face each other in Cairo in a friendly game scheduled for February 9. It will be USA’s first-ever visit to Cairo.

Bradley’s men downed Egypt 3-0 with ease in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. However, the 52-year-old heaped praise on the African champions ahead of their upcoming meeting.

"Egypt is an extremely talented and competitive team," said Bradley on the USA Soccer Federation’s official site.

"Their performances in the Confederations Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations have demonstrated their ability to challenge the top teams in the world.

"To play against the champions of Africa in what will be a fantastic environment in Cairo is a great opportunity as we get ready for the CONCACAF Gold Cup."

Egypt lost 4-3 to Brazil in their opening Confederations Cup game but their solid performance was widely lauded.

Afterwards, they beat world champions Italy 1-0, a victory that’s deemed a historic feat.

However, their loss to USA saw them wave goodbye to the quadrennial competition.

The friendly in February is part of Egypt’s perpetrations for the rest of their 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
